Will milk frozen before its expiration date still be good when thawed?

With the price of milk going up, up, up, I want to take advantage of sales on gallon size. But rarely do I find milk with expiration date more that 5-7 day ahead of purchase. If I freeze it when I buy it, when I thaw it will it stay good for the next 5-7 days?
