Why do you need math and english in college?

why is math and english required in college does 12 years of prior education count for nothing english has virtually no need in any career choice unless for some stupid reason you are going to be a english major and math a high school diploma gives you all the math you need to be successful in any major except math majors, engineers, biochemist....also I know that i have a **** load of grammatical errors and this is a big run on don't give me that bullshit of "well it obviously seems like you don't know how to write sentences and other bullshit" i just want a straight answer does anyone really know why we need math and english in college?
