Doc can prescribe pain killers , various sorts ,, but there is a limit on how many you can safely take ,, Heat pads sometimes help a bit also some herbal remedies like feverfew from a herbalist or health food shop .. Lots of hospitals have pain management clinics to which your doctor can refer you ,TENS machines sometimes help Hospitals supply these . Ultimately though replacement joints or surgery are the only long term things
